In order for your website to get a decent search engine ranking you need to have people linking to you. There are various ways to do this that I will explain here and this is how your home business will survive. 1. By offering content that people need and want they will naturally link to your site because of the information you have provided. So take a minute and think about your site, would you value the content that is there? If you answered no, you better come up with something that people will want. Many people like information, tips, and tricks that they can use. Take this article for example, if you did not already know, this article will give you ideas on how to increase your rankings. 2. Write articles. People like new information so do search engines. Included a link to your site in every article you write. Not only is this an inbound link to your site, but think if someone decided to use it on their site, that is 1 more link to your site. There are many places to submit articles to. Then at the bottom or somewhere in your article include a link to your site. Then for the anchor words, use your keywords that you are trying to get a good ranking for. 3. Exchange links - try and find sites with information that is like your site and ask for a link exchange. Whatever you do, DO NOT join a link farm. You will probably be penalized for this. 4. Your internal linking strategy will help you. Say you have a 10 page website, you should have links to each page on each page. 5. Find sites like yours and see what sites link to those sites. For example if your keyword is google tips you might want to go to google.com and type in that keyword. When the results come up check out which sites are like yours. copy the url and type in link:www.whatever.com . The results will show which pages are linking to the site that came up during your first search. Go to these sites and see if they will link to yours.
